The 40 Beauty Questions tag has been going around the blogosphere for a while and looks comprehensive enough to me to function as my Beauty Profile. I'll probably be adding things to the list, and you can always ask me about stuff in the comments, but for now you'll probably find everything you might want to know about me in the list below. (If not, do comment on the page! :-))
Name: Izar
Age: 27

Eyelashes: long, not too voluminous, not very visible without mascara
Skintone: light olive
Skintype: combination
Issues: hormonal acne, comedoes, rosacea
Stuff my face loves: tretinoin, tazarotene, hyaluronic acid, organic stuff (I don't tend to get a reaction from them)
Stuff my face hates: SILICONES (Oh, how I loathe them...), mineral oil
Foundation: EDM's Light Almond (for the time being)
Stuff I like: lippies, body-lotions and body-scrubs in general, Silk Naturals and Bourjois lipglosses, effective moisturizers (gels, light creams, fluids), loose eyeshadows with complex colors, gourmand scents, LUSH's Veganese hair conditioner and their shampoo bars, eyeshadows that bring out the green in my eyes, cute jars, spray or pump bottles, green shimmer in makeup (esp. in lippies), fiber-optic and pencil brushes, Pure Luxe eyeshadows (Or rather, that was before I laid my eyes on Sassy's and Fyrinnae's... *dreamy eyes*), anything colorful and pretty ;-)
Stuff I hate: the white cast sunscreens give, nailpolish remover (urgh, the smell...), my cr*ppy skin, the fact that a huge amount of uber-cool cosmetic brands are not present in Hungary, exorbitant shipping prices

SKINCARE

Twice. In the morning, I quickly wash it with my trusted Clinians Cleansing Gel with Mandelic Acid, but in the evening I have a longer routine due to the fact that I use sunscreen and mineral makeup daily, which are impossible to remove with a mere gel cleanser.
This is my evening routine:
- take off eye-makeup with Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellar Solution
- get rid of sunscreen and mineral foundation with the help of Alverde's Wildrose Cleansing Milk
- say goodbye to any oily residue with above mentioned Clinians cleanser

Combination, with the T-zone being pretty oily nowadays...

Clinians Cleansing Gel with Mandelic Acid

Sort of. I've been using tretinoin (and lately, tazarotene too) since January 15, 2010, so I have to be extra careful with any potential skin irritants. Back when my skin was still trying to get used to tretinoin and flaking horribly I used microfiber clothes to get rid of dead skincells. Nowadays, my skin can tolerate a very gentle scrub, but I don't use it often as tretinoin and tazarotene quicken the turnover of my skicells just fine and I don't really need one to have smooth skin.

Freeman's Pineapple Enzyme Mask... Yeah, I know, it's not a srub, but it does contain some small exfoliatiing particles and is gentle enough on my skin.

I don't use one. Every night I apply tretinoin to my skin, and every other night I put a thin layer of Bioderma Sensibio Light moisturizer on it followed by tazarotene.
During the day I only wear Bioderma's Photoderm Sensitive 50+ sunscreen and beleive me when I tell yoou: you don't need anything else under that...

No, and though I like it on others, I don't think that alongside my acne, comedoes, and bits of rosacea on my skin I could deal with freckles in my life.

Nope. In the evening, I may sometimes remember to use my Bioderma Sensibio Eye Cream, but in the morning I just put suncreen there too, and that's more than enough.

I have Insulin Resistence and the Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome that usually goes with it, so yeah, I've been sporting different types of acne ever since I was 11.
It went away completely for 2,5 years when I took the pill, but the hairloss, the high colesterol levels, the migraine and the chest pain that replaced it was not worth it in the long run, so I stopped. My zits were, of course, more than happy to return...
Nowadays, however, I'm keeping the little buggers under control with my diet and tretinoin. I still get the occasional zit every now and then, but my face is mostly clear now. (Not counting some scars due to my dermographic skin...)

No, but I did use benzoyl peroxide for more than a year. I don't even want to think about how it could have damaged my skin in the long run... My skin pretty much kept stinging contiuously during the time I used BP, it was red and irritated all the time and my zits were still there. Now with tretinoin I at least get the anti-ageing benefits as opposed to BP, which produces oxigen in your skin and thus promotes the formation of free radicals and aging.
Salycilic acid also didn't work for me.
MAKE-UP

EDM's Light Almond Matte, until I find an alternative. I have high hopes for Adorned With Grace. :)

Urgh, I mix a bit of my foundation with Silk Naturals Oil Control Primer, but it's by far not the best option, so I'm on the lookout for a new one.

Yup. I'm a Martian. :-D I have yellow and green undertones, and thus olive skin. (It's a lighter version though, not your typical dark, Mediterranean olive.)

I haven't tried it yet, 'cause I haven't felt the need, but it's great providing you know how to appy it correctly.

Yeah, though 'knowing' and 'doing' are two entirely different things...

Clinique (Natually Glossy Mascara in Jet Brown). Check out this post to get a basic idea of what I want from a mascara.

No.

Brushes, eyelash curler, my hands, and lots of swearing. (In that particular order...)

Alverde's Tagesfluid Perle dubles as a face primer, but it's totally pointless to use it with sunscreen, so I usually stick to my Silk Naturals Oil Control Powder to create a good canvas for my makeup.

- Pure Luxe Golden Sands
- Silk Naturals Pink Twink, Cougar, Wildcat, Rebel, Bright, Fairy Dust
- Everyday Minerals In The Garden

Nope. I still haven't mastered the use of eye pencils, though I'm curious about eyeliners and am planning to get one soon. I mostly just line my eyes with my eyeshadows (Silk Naturals Basalt, Wildcat, Aubergine)

Not very often, as I don't use one. ;-) I do, however, poke myself with mascara every now and then...

They're lovely but usually come in colors so vivid and unwearable that I don't see any reason to buy any. I do have a sample of MAC's Sunnydaze pigment though and love it. :)

All the time. :-) Pretty much everything I use is from some online mineral makeup company (Silk Naturals, Pure Luxe, Everyday Minerals) so yeah, I'd say I do. :-)

I prefer lipgloss actually, but I do love Spicy Coral from Catrice.

You really wanna know? 'Cause I could go on and on about lipgloss for days. :-)))
Silk Naturals' lipglosses are by far the best I've ever tried, but then again, I don't exactly like my lippies to be very glossy and plasticky. I used to be in love with Bourjois Effet 3D glosses and own more than 20 of them, but I don't reach for them very often nowadays. Rimmel's Volume Booster glosses are pretty fab too.

I have tons of EDM blushes, but also own some samples from Pure Luxe and Silk Naturals. My fave would probably be EDM's Best Friends, but I also love Snuggle, Chit Chat, Photo Album and Salon Fun from the same brand. Blossom by Silk Naturals, Lilas D'Or by Bourjois and my new HEMA blush are also often used. :)

My first ever purchase on EBay was Clinique's Naturally Glossy Mascara (I had been wanting to try it for ages), and I've also bought several other makeup items there already.

Sure, but my favorite makeup products come from online companies.

I'm not even sure if we have any in Hungary, but it'd be fun to visit the Body Shop outlet in Parndorf, Austria. Maybe one day. :)

Yes, and I'm still considering it, but it's not my top priority right now.

I'd like to believe that I've improved my skills somewhat in the past few years, but there's still room for improvement in that area. ^_^

Using foundation that's several shades darker than your skin. I once saw a woman in a mall who wore foundation that was at least 5 or 6 shades darker than her skin. It was also kinda orange... And just plain ridiculous.
Using a lip pencil that's anything but the same shade as one's lipstick. Urgh...
Ice blue eyeshadow.
Nails that go on for miles and end in sharp points. With flowers on them. Man, it's like carrying a dagger with pretty pink ribbons on it...
Okay, so that was more than one, but they really do irk me...

I like both, but my job as a personal assistant requires me to keep a low profile, so I tend to stick to neutrals on weekdays. I can't say I go totally crazy with colors on weekends, but at least I can wear dark-blue or purple eyeliner, turqoise eyeshadow and sparkly blushes. :-DDD

Natalie Portman can't do wrong in my books, neither makeup- nor fashion-wise.

Foundation. (For obvious reasons.)

It kinda depends on how high standards we hold ourselves to. And you can go a little overboard with that. I've seen women with perfect skin and a lovely face not daring to leave the house without a full makeup. My skin's better than it used to be, but it's not perfect, so nowadays, I don't go out without at least some foundation, concealer, lippie and mascara. I can only do that though because the tretinoin I use helps my skin tolerate mineral makeup. Last year I had to stick to only concealer on problem areas and no foundation whatsoever. I survived without any lasting trauma.

Yes, I do. Sometimes. Other times when I look in the mirror I could gag...

In my opinion, there's no such thing. Though I hold Silk Naturals in high esteem, I also think that mostly every makeup line offers some great products and some not-so-great ones. You can't stick to one line only, you have to experiment and find the products that work best for you.

It's practical in that it helps me look my best, and it's also a source of endless fun and enjoyment for me. It's also the hungry little monster that eats up all my money and rubs my mother the wrong way...
