Do you have family? Friends? People you care about?
Have you ever been in a situation where you couldn't reach them and had to live in uncertainty about their well-being until the situation finally resolved itself?
Do you remember that unbearable feeling of helplessness and frustration that took you over and threatened your own sanity?
Something like the above happens to most of us at some point in our lives, like it did to my family and me this summer when we spent 3 months apart from each other. My parents were in our summer cottage just 20 kms away from Budapest where I stayed, and on the first day my Mum tried to call me with her brand new cell-phone. She tried and tried all night in vain, and by the time I called her in the morning she was frantic and, let's admit, a little harsher with me that she should have been. :-) It turned out that the number she tried to call me on was missing just one single number, but it caused her an entire night of emotional turmoil, something she said she never wants to experience again.
Sounds familiar?
It probably does, but it doesn't even come close to what war-refugees experience every moment of their lives, having lost contact with their families with seemingly no hope of ever finding them in this immense world of ours.
If you're a blogger and would like to raise awareness in support of these people, then head over to http://unite.blogcatalog.com/ where you can learn more about how to do so. Also, visit ww.refunite.org and educate yourself further about this issue.
Thank you!
